When AI Creates More Work, Not Less
A counterintuitive reality of AI adoption: in the short term, AI often creates more work, not less. New tools require learning curves. AI-generated content requires human review. Automated workflows require debugging and monitoring. The efficiency gains are real, but they take 60-90 days to materialize.
The companies that abandon AI initiatives do so in the first 30 days — exactly the period when the workload feels heavier, not lighter. The companies that succeed are the ones that budget for a learning curve and measure results at 90 days, not 30.
The lesson: AI is an investment in future capacity, not an immediate workload reduction.
